Accessibility
This site was built to be usable by people who browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or a reduced-motion setting. If something here does not work for you, the firm wants to hear about it and will not make you file anything to get it fixed.
The standard this site aims at
The target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. That is the level generally referenced for public-facing sites in the United States.
Aiming at a standard is not the same as perfectly meeting it everywhere. Where this site falls short, the firm wants to know, and treats a report as a defect to fix rather than a complaint to manage.
What was done
Text and background colors were checked against the AA contrast ratios rather than assumed, including the brand orange, which was adjusted where it did not pass.
Every control reachable with a mouse is reachable with a keyboard, and the focus outline is visible rather than suppressed. Headings run in order so a screen reader can navigate by structure, and each page has exactly one first-level heading.
Images that carry meaning have text alternatives describing what they show. Form fields have real labels, not placeholder text standing in for one.
The site ships almost no JavaScript, so it works with scripting unavailable or blocked. Accordions and sliders use native browser elements that assistive technology already understands.
Animation is limited, and respects the operating system’s reduced-motion setting where one is set.
Text can be enlarged in the browser without the layout breaking or content being cut off.
Known limits
Documents and resources on other websites that this site links to — court sites, state agencies, the Florida statutes — are outside the firm’s control and may not meet the same standard.
If something does not work, tell us
Write to [email protected] or call any office. It helps to say what page you were on and what you were using — a screen reader and its version, a browser, a phone — but tell us even if you cannot say.
And if the website is the obstacle, do not let it stop you getting help. Call any of the three offices and speak with someone directly. The firm will take a case review by phone and will meet where you are if travel is difficult.
